Over the past few years, we have seen White Castle add 100 automated burger-flipping robots named Flippy to their locations.

If Flippy can flip a burger and become a mainstay at White Castle, then it is reasonable to predict that ChatGPT will be elbowing human workers out of their jobs.

We do not even have to leave White Castle to imagine that: If a sophisticated conversational computing platform like ChatGPT, which can work 24/7 and handle multiple concurrent conversations at once, took over handling customers’ orders, then suddenly humans behind cash registers will be a thing of the past.

Should Business Owners Be Worried, Excited, or Both?

However, we are not quite at the point where the only humans in a White Castle will be the customers. But people are not wrong to predict that, as AI becomes more sophisticated, the job replacements will spread beyond a fast food kitchen.

Microsoft’s CEO has said that AI will ultimately increase job satisfaction and lead to net new jobs, as well as a wage increase.

Below, we go into how your business can use AI to increase job satisfaction, instead of fear and/or disgruntlement among employees.

Make Clear What the AI Is For

Simply telling your employees that AI is going to be implemented into your daily operations will, as mentioned above, create a lot of mixed emotions among your workers.

For instance, if you announce that you are going to be using persona modeling for your marketing, your marketing department may feel threatened.

When you make it understood that persona modeling is meant to boost your marketing department’s creative strategy, rather than create the strategy itself, then your employees will breathe a sigh of relief. And also be more willing to make the best use of the AI platform.

Be Willing to Let Your Employees Take the Lead on How to Use the AI

At the end of the day, your employees know best what their weak spots are in their roles.

Take a manufacturing company as an example. A price prediction platform, such as those offered by Findability Sciences, can predict the daily prices of raw materials with up to 99% accuracy.

If the employees responsible for ordering materials have been struggling to figure out the best day in the week to order, say, copper, then the prediction platform may be needed.

This is why keeping an open line of communication open to your employees can be helpful. You may even find out that your employees would like an AI platform to help with their everyday duties.

A good example of this is chatbots that can answer the “easy” questions that customers have, so that only the more urgent ones reach humans in customer service.

Know the Limits of AI

Unless you need a robot to flip burgers for you, it is best to see AI as an assistive tool, rather than a cost-cutting superweapon that will do entire employees’, or even teams’, work at a fraction of the price.

AI is simply not at the level of sophistication that will replace entire office floors of workers. The sooner you realize that, for the majority of industries, AI is a revenue-boosting assistant to your employees, rather than an outright replacement, the sooner you will reap the benefits from this ever-growing field.

GO AI to Grow Your Business

Predicting the prices of raw materials with 99% accuracy. Finding out your customer churn rate well in advance. Analyzing your marketing materials to find out where viewers’ eyes will go, and in what order.
